Tas Salini - Producer, Writer, Director Salini is a producer, writer, and director with over 20 years of industry experience. Salini came to film through teaching photography, video and film production in England, Austria and now in the United States. He has directed well over 100 music videos that have aired on MTV(USA),MTV (Europe), MTV Espanol, BET, The Box and hosts of cable and satellite channels worldwide. He has directed and produced five documentaries that include 'Raps Most Wanted' (A*Vision/Atlantic Music Group) featuring Ice-T, Chuck D (Public Enemy); Too Short and Ghetto Boys; 'Inner Circle: A 20 Year Journey' (WEA/Sweden) featuring the Grammy award winning reggae band, Inner Circle; 'Lele Jiha: Making of An Album' (Dino Music/ Germany); and 'The Pan Am Story' that aired on PBS. This multiple award winning documentary tells the rise and demise of the legendary airline Pan American Airways. Tas Salini wrote, produced and directed a short film 'The Outsider' (45 min) that won many awards. For 'Gringo Wedding' once again he wears three hats and has directed a warm, hilarious romantic comedy set in two countries: Colombia and USA. He meticulously chose his cast, crew and locations and has delivered a very entertaining and memorable film. He has won numerous Crystal Reel and Telly awards for directing and producing several projects. He also won the coveted audience awards at prestigious film festivals for 'Best Picture' for 'Gringo Wedding'. In addition to being an avid filmmaker, he teaches television and film production at The Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. |
